Housed in a landmark industrial building on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead, Baltic is a major international centre for contemporary art.

We are recruiting friendly and dedicated Sales Assistant to work within this iconic North East building, who can provide outstanding customer service to join our team.

As a Sales Assistant, you will have a range of duties from engaging with our customers, delivering a professional, consistent and outstanding level of customer service for Baltic Shop, online shop and other retail activities.

We are recruiting for the following working pattern:

• 1x Part Time – 6 hours per week

The successful candidate will have previous comparable experience and excellent communication skills. A thorough understanding of front-line retail practice and the ability to work well in a team are essential.

Please note: Hours will include weekends worked on a Rota basis to cover staff during the summer holidays, this will require candidates to be flexible in their working hours.

Reports to: Shop Manager

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Working hours: Working 6 hours per week on a rota basis across our opening days Wednesday – Sunday, 09.45am – 6.15pm, you must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays pro-rata
