As a Catering Assistant with ISS UK, you will be at the heart of the action and will play a key role in our catering operation, assisting with the preparation and service of food while keeping an excellent standard of cleanliness and safety.
The post holder will support the delivery of a high-quality catering service to patients, staff and visitors by preparing, serving and delivering meals in a clean, safe and hygienic environment.
The role includes ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, supporting stock control processes, operating catering equipment safely, and maintaining high presentation standards.
The Role
- Prepare, serve and deliver food and beverages in accordance with food hygiene regulations and dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment within kitchens, dining areas and associated catering premises.
- Support stock receipt, storage and rotation in line with HACCP and food safety standards.
- Handle cash, operate cash registers and assist with till reconciliation following relevant training and policy guidance (where required).
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance in line with uniform and hand care guidelines.
- Attend team meetings, performance reviews and required training to support ongoing development.
About You
- Enthusiastic approach to work.
- Catering experience is preferred – but a positive, can-do attitude is essential.
- Good understanding of the principals of food hygiene.
- You can follow instructions but are not scared to make your own decisions for what’s best for the customer.
- Making sure the customer come first, ensuring their experience is an exceptional one one.
- A determined team player who works well with others.
