Full Job Description

The Single Point of Access (SPA) is an administrative service whose purpose is to streamline and coordinate all referrals to STARRS providing a central base through which referrers can access all disciplines. The SPA coordinates the whole service pathway as well as monitoring the process.

We are looking for a competent and diligent Administrator to work as part of the SPA within STARRS. You will be expected to fulfil your duties to a very high standard to ensure the smooth running of this busy team.

The SPA is an administrative service whose purpose is to streamline and co-ordinate all referrals to the STARRS Virtual ward providing a central base through which referrers can access all disciplines. The SPA co-ordinates the whole service pathway as well as the monitoring the process.

The Administrator is an integral team member and is key to the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Using Healthcare digital technology to monitor patients with different Specialities. Modern technology used to monitor patients remotely with approved health applications.

Monitoring patients through digital dashboard for clinical parameters and follow up the appropriate clinical action as required.

Working closely with other Virtual ward Specialities service and making sure that all clinical data are captured, and patients are monitored accordingly.

Be responsible for the appropriate and timely referral process of patients to all community agencies, monitoring an integrated partnership between hospital and community colleagues, liaising closely with them to actively and smoothly manage the patient’s pathway through their hospital episode.

Be responsible to optimise hospital bed utilisation and reduce the length of stay by ensuring the timely, safe transfer/discharges of patients to the most appropriate and agreed environment as well as helping prevent inappropriate hospital admission in agreement with other organisations such as Primary Care Trust, GPs and Social Services
