Full Job Description
The SDWAN Consultant is the primary pre-sales technical interface between customers and the TalkTalk Business Wholesale organisation for new SD-WAN services. They spend time understanding the customer requirements and collating them into design documentation to allow for seamless delivery and high level of customer satisfaction.
Using effective interpersonal skills and exhibiting a strong technical knowledge of Fortinet SDWAN systems and architecture, the SDWAN Consultant is accountable for the solution sold being fit for purpose, functionally correct to the customer’s needs and well understood by the wider business.

Role Expectations
Customer Information Gathering

Consult and assist with completion of Complex Security configuration forms and information gathering documents with specific reference

Audit of firewall rule base and compare against customer intent and business justification and are configured with least access.

Identify all security appliances in scope and document

Create a list of applications in use and confirm their relative importance to the customer and the application host location

Create an application priority map which lists the primary and secondary network paths in the event of an SLA breach or circuit failure if applicable

Investigate and confirm antivirus protection requirements for all inbound & outbound data (e.g. Web & Mail)

Verify Webfiltering policies in place

Verify remote access requirements (management link, remote mobile workers, remote fixed office locations) and the network resource access requirements of all work group(s). Need familiarity with MFA.

Verify UTM service requirements are understood and requirements around user activity reporting are captured
Customer Design Documentation
-
Creation of comprehensive, customer facing, contractual design and statement of work documents that will be used by the Project Management, Delivery and Support teams throughout the lifecycle of the customer solution.

Experience in translating high level customer needs and wants into a technically literate design document.

SDWAN Specialists

Stay current with the Fortinet product set and support the TTBWS Product team in expanding and improving on the product.

Provide education for Sales and technical staff through seminars, blogs and documentation.

Be accountable for the success of all solutions designed for customers, acting as their advocate in the Technical Sign-Off process.
