We have an exciting opportunity for an Environment and Ecology Advisor to join our Rail Division based from our Chorley or Birmingham office – and there has never been a better time to join!
The Role
As an Environment and Ecology Advisor at Story Contracting you will provide specialist Environmental and Ecological Management advice and support to all business areas within Story Contracting Limited, and to support the development of the company’s Environmental Management System in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001:2015
Key Responsibilities

• Provide environmental support to the site / depot/project delivery teams
• Provide ecological support on site and to the design management teams.
• Drive the environmental agenda for, and on behalf of, Story Contracting
• Promoting a culture that supports environmental best practice in the workplace;
• Supporting in the production of Environmental & Social Management Plans, Environmental Risk Assessments, Site Waste Management Plans and Environmental Incident Response Plans;
• Producing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Invasive Non-Native Species Management Plans & Biodiversity Assessments;
• Support with environmental permit and licence applications;
• Monitor and accurately report on environment & ecology compliance;

The Ideal Candidate:

• Relevant Degree in Environmental Management and / or Ecology
• Chartered / Full Membership of a relevant professional body (CIEEM / IEMA)
• Experience of working within the construction industry
• Relevant knowledge of permit applications for construction projects
• Experience in completing Ecology Surveys
• Experience in completing Environmental and Social Management Plans and Environmental Risk Assessments
• Excellent working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015
• Understanding of ISO 50001:2011 / ESOS Requirements
