Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day Rolls-Royce Security Services Operations, ensuring compliance and efficient movement of visitors and staff through entry/egress points and adherence to Rolls-Royce Site Security and Emergency protocols, through effective management and delegation.
- Monitor the standards of compliance and behaviours by Security Personnel against protocols, identifying performance standards, both good and bad.
- Manage the daily scheduling process; ensuring rest breaks are allocated in line with Health & Safety legislation and policy.
- Ensure colleague engagement and communication time, including team briefs and daily briefs, are allocated at the start of each shift, to ensure a consistent and effective communication structure between management and colleagues.
- Ensure return to work interviews are carried out in a timely manner and any follow up action is followed in line with local process and procedures.
- To deputise for and implement instructions issued from the Security Service Manager and Fire & Security Compliance Manager.
- Complete audits and site visits throughout each shift, ensuring appropriate standards are met, effective documentation and reporting is achieved, and training requirements are highlighted.
- To ensure Rolls-Royce Site external and internal policies are followed and a full knowledge of these policies.
- Respond to security breaches, incidents, and emergencies, taking any necessary corrective action, and following agreed reporting lines.
- To identify and delegate team leadership responsibilities to nominated Deputies ensuring the appearance and the functionality of the Security areas are at a high standard, and that they have the necessary equipment in order to create a professional environment and an efficient and compliant service.
- To lead, motivate, support and coach colleagues by setting the right personal example in the way duties are performed.
- Assist with the development of colleagues by providing coaching and mentoring where appropriate.
- Conduct and apply Mitie disciplinary procedures where appropriate, making sure that the correct processes are followed, and that disciplinary decision making is passed to the correct manager for final consideration.
- Act as first line representative for Security Management outside of normal working hours to deliver a complete professional and compliant operation.
- Plan ahead and anticipate tactical shortfalls in staff resourcing and take appropriate actions to ensure contractual obligations.
- Carry out ad-hoc projects relating to security as directed by the Security Services Manager & Fire & Security Compliance Manager.
- To effectively communicate operational concerns and daily reports to the relevant Managers.
Monitor and maintain Officers/Supervisor competencies to the appropriate standards, raising any areas of concern to the management team.

- First class customer service skills- able to demonstrate experience of building effective, lasting professional relationships with customers.
- Excellent communication skills – able to give clear, constructive feedback; develop two way communications and deliver difficult messages in a sensitive and tactful way both to individuals and teams.
- Excellent observation skills with an attention to detail that ensures all security protocols and regulations are adhered to.
- IT literate in basic software packages such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Excellent resource allocation skills, able to anticipate problems and the needs of the customer and react quickly to any demands of the service.
- Logical thinker with a meticulous eye for detail possibly in high pressure situations.
Investigatory and report writing skills, able to decipher a sequence of events or circumstances and report on any findings.
SIA & Driving licence required.
