We are seeking to recruit a high calibre and highly motivated Group Leader who is looking for their next challenging role within a process driven and dynamic work environment to be based at the customer’s site: DE1 9TA. The role will follow a 1-week rotational shift pattern: morning shift: 5.30 AM – 2.30 PM and late shift 3.00PM – 12.00AM Monday – Friday (45 hours per week).
The role will offer a salary of up to £39,148.86 per annum (based on rotating shifts).
Typically, you will be responsible for managing a large operation within the TMUK operation. Your main objective will be to manage the day to day activities including shunt operation, internal operations and receiving Docks. The position holder will also be required to ensure that the team operates within strict procedures and timescales.
Main Responsibilities
- To oversee the requirements of the client to ensure parts are delivered to required locations to meet business demands.
- Effectively allocate team activities for the shift, ensuring tasks are distributed appropriately and are achievable.
- Produce and maintain KPI’s, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
- Map, challenge and continually review current processes ensuring SOP’s are robust, efficient, current and comply with Health & Safety.
- Effectively compile and deliver a structured and comprehensive shift handover enabling a smooth transition between the shifts to ensure operations continue smoothly and all outstanding actions are addressed.
- Motivate, coach and mentor the team, ensuring expected performance levels are understood and achieved, implementing appropriate training interventions to build a multi-skilled workforce able to operate in the most cost-effective manner.
- Maintain and improve current working relationships with all stakeholders, ensuring a professional standard of communication in a timely manner, building trust and confidence
- Follow all required employee management processes in regard to performance, absence and conduct/undertake disciplinary investigations and hearings in accordance with policies and procedures
- Deliver the ongoing Yusen H&S programme through daily monitoring, application and delivery of the H&S policy, SSOW and internal and external compliance.

- Highly organized with good analytical skills – able to balance priorities.
- A customer-focused manner, remaining level-headed in any situation
- In depth knowledge of principles & processes
- Good attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload, effectively managing multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills, being able to break down areas of change and development for your team
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages
- A good working knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role or in an automotive environment would be an advantage with a proven track record in delivery of high efficiency standards
