Recruiting Bank Support Worker to join our Mental Health and Complex needs service in Tower Hamlets.

Looking for a new role where you can make a difference every day? We’re looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Bank Support Worker to join our Mental Health and Complex needs service in Tower Hamlets.

£11.07 per hour, Pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

We’re looking for a Bank Support Worker to join our Mental Health and Complex needs service.

Essential:

  • Adept use of Microsoft programmes and an ability and willing to learn how to use new recording and reporting software.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in Mental Health.
  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience in the social care/charity sector.
  • Psychology background.
  • First hand experience working with Mental Health.

 

Bank Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community and move towards greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. The position consists of one high support building with 20 flats and two low support buildings with 20 lower support flats spread over two sites within close proximity.

 

  • Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers.
  • Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.
  • Supporting key customers to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan.
  • Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals.
  • Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’.
  • Proactively manage risk and safety both in and outside of their physical living environment.
  • Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance where skills are not yet developed, to ensure that customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
  • Proactive development of links with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide a range of engagement opportunities for customers in the community.

Job Overview:

Cannon Street Road Mental Health Services has 40 flats at 3 sites. The main project is for individuals with mental health issues who require high – low level support. Staff here also offer outreach support across: Ensign Street, Glasshouse Filed those with mental health issues requiring low level support who are able to live semi-independently; Glasshouse Fields, for low-medium mental health needs. the project has one high support building with 20 self-contained flats, with additional communal space and a garden. Staff working with people with chronic mental health and long-term mental health issues, helping them towards their recovery and tenancies. They will be based is cannon street sites, but they will visit the other two stepdown sites (low need) withing 15 minutes walking distance.

Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to join a busy, dynamic and engaging team working in Tower Hamlets. Support Workers enable people with particular needs to manage their tenancies and live independent lives of their choosing in the community and move towards greater independence by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.
