Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: Grade 4 £21,575 to £21,968

We are currently looking to recruit an operative to work closely with Macclesfield Town Council as a Town Ranger as part of an already established service. The role will involve completing a range of grounds maintenance and cleansing activities across Macclesfield including planting enhancements, litter picking, removal of fly tipped waste and some maintenance of public realm furniture and structures as well as driving a 3.5 tonne transit tipper to ensure the town is a clean, safe and an attractive place to live.

In order to apply for the role applicants should have a good knowledge of the Town and experience of grounds maintenance operations, cleansing methods and suitable practical maintenance, i.e. painting and general repairs.

You will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions and exert physical effort for the majority of the working day in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.

You will be able to interact and communicate effectively with members of the public in order to portray a professional image of our company and the town council and deliver a quality service.

Literacy and numeracy skills are essential along with the ability to use technology particularly a smart phone in order to take photographs, record tasks and post on social media when requested.

Applicants must hold a driving licence.

You will be required to work in line with the Employee Code of Conduct and work as part of a team. The need to work in a safe manner is paramount and therefore an understanding of relevant safe working practices is required.
