Salary: Starting at £9.18ph before April – £10.18ph after April plus Veolia benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, RG1 5AN

Apprenticeship programme
During this Level 3 Engineering programme, we will help you to develop your practical skills and knowledge required for you to succeed in this role as well as your future career. Throughout the 42 – month programme, you will continue to develop your behaviours such as team working, problem-solving and customer focus. Veolia as a business is not only interested in what you accomplish, but the manner you do it.
As well as gaining a broad range of technical and professional knowledge and experience, you’ll also gain academic and vocational qualifications such as a Level 3 Diploma, Level 3 Competency & Knowledge Skills Certificate, as well as H&S (IOSH) Awareness Training.
What will you be doing?
- Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Services Manager and as per site policies, schedules and procedures
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment as necessary, and as directed by site supervisors
- Liaise with sub-contractors during planned service maintenance.
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure these are always kept valid
- Update maintenance task list’s as appropriate
- Carry out periodic reviews of EWI/SOP to ensure they are always current and valid
- All work on-site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines
- Flexibility to work on equipment in all buildings and maintenance shutdown’s
- Participate in audits of the mechanical and electrical plant rooms and follow up on actions
What are we looking for?
- 5 GCSE grade A*- C or grades 4 – 9 (or equivalent) including Maths, English & Science
- Able to manage your time effectively and work as a part of the team
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Driving Licence
Please bear in mind that this role will require you to travel across the region, therefore you need a driving licence and must be flexible.
