MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) – 2 Full time positions, job share accepted

Is based at Poole Police Station. A vetting process for this position will be needed to be completed if a suitable candidate is found.

BCP Children’s First Response & MASH provides a single point of access to the services that keep children safe. It is a multi-agency team made up of representatives from a range of partner agencies that provide advice, support and protection as needed. Children’s First Response & MASH ensures that all referrals are dealt with in a timely, co-ordinated, and efficient manner and that information shared is within a secure environment with the aim of identifying what help the child and family need and whether the child is at risk of harm – working together to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

The Business Support role within Children’s First Response & MASH Team requires the ability and resilience to support the team in a fast-paced, information sensitive environment whilst maintaining a positive and calm persona and able to build a good rapport and draw on the support network and resources within the team.

You will be one of a team of experienced, friendly, and supportive Business Support colleagues who are the first point of contact within the MASH Team dealing with a high volume of enquiries through various pathways, which can include telephone calls which are of a sensitive and urgent nature and require excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role requires the ability to manage a complex and demanding workload and to prioritise tasks and provide efficient, proactive, and professional day to day support to the wider team of Manager’s, Social Workers, and Early Help workers

Due to the wide range of business support provided to the Children’s First Response & MASH Team you will need strong interpersonal skills, reliability, highly developed organisational skills, including arranging highly sensitive meetings and taking minutes, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy whilst always dealing with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.

Families First – 1 Full time positions, job share accepted

BCP Children’s Families First teams deal with cases that have been retained within Children’s Social Care. The Business Support Officers support Social Workers and Team Managers with recording of case notes onto the Children’s recording systems, updating information as and when circumstances change in any of the families’ lives, they will also create any new records as required. This post is based at 14a Commercial Road, Poole.

The Business Support act as a point of contact for all enquiries for the Children’s Families First teams using Anywhere 365, MS Teams calls, transferring calls to Social Workers, Team Managers, Duty workers, if these workers are not available messages need to be taken and passed on promptly and efficiently, including uploading communication to service users’ records.

Support includes the management of a generic inbox where all requests from Social Workers come into and dealing with each email in a timely manner. Set up strategy meetings, using Outlook. Minute strategy meetings and Core Group meetings. Send out any distributions, of minutes and plans to service users via email or post. Send out any correspondence by email or post as requested by Social Workers. Issue Food bank vouchers for service users. Creating Genograms, advising gov.uk when children are placed into care. Along with other administrative duties such as arranging car hire if a social worker is needing to travel to a BCP child that has been placed outside of BCP jurisdiction.

Fostering – 1 full time position

We are looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to work in Fostering Business Support Team, Children’s Social Care. This post will be based at 14a Commercial Road, Parkstone, Poole but with flexibility for remote working once fully trained, with a 1 day a week working in the office to cover duty. This is a full time position of 37 hours across 5 days, supporting 2 social worker teams.

The role will primarily provide support to a POD of Social Workers in the Supported Lodgings 18+ Team and Private Fostering Team who are currently dealing with fostering assessments. The job description provides detailed information about the requirements of the role, however in summary the post holder will need to have strong administrative skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be the first point of contact for foster carers and outside agencies for the PODs you are responsible for, so oral communication skills is essential. A high degree of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and discipline, displaying a pro-active approach at all times and an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information, good working knowledge of IT systems including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Children in Care – 1 part time position (3 days per week)

The post will be based at 14a Commercial Road, Parkstone, Poole but with flexibility for remote working. This is a part time position of 22.2 hours over 3 days.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Officer. We are looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to work as part of a team in Children in Care Business Support Team, Children’s Social Care.

The role works as part of a business support team and provides support to 4 teams of Social Workers The job description provides detailed information about the requirements of the role, however in summary the post holder will:

  • provide a high quality administrative support to 4 teams of social workers
  • to deal with data inputting, finance, ordering of car hires/accommodation/travel for social workers and young people and their families
  • to update and maintain service user records in the MOSAIC system
  • to act as first point of contact for all enquiries for the team, whether via telephone or visitors to the building
  • to maintain electronic filing systems for the service
  • to arrange meetings and minute take where required, type and distribute minutes of meetings
  • to ensure invoices and order are processed accordingly
  • ordering of birth certificates and applying for Passports for children in care

The successful candidate will liaise and work with colleagues from across BCP and partner agencies on a regular basis at a critical time within our Childrens Services Improvement journey.

Nursery – Administrative Assistant 18.5 hours BCP Band D (£21,575 – £21,968) – Post Number 11207

Our full day-care nursery offers care and education for children aged from 3 months up until they join Reception class at the age of 4 years old. If you are passionate about children, have strong administrative skills, knowledge of financial responsibilities, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, whilst looking towards combining remote and flexible hours; this is your opportunity to join our services. The successful candidate will be one of the first points of contact at our nursery. You will be dealing with all nursery’s queries, signposting them as appropriate. You will be IT literate, with experience in Word documents, managing databases, Excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft packages. Your duties will include purchasing goods on behalf of the nursery, raising and sending invoices, whilst monitoring and updating children’s registration and attendance records. A motivated, organised, solution-focus orientated person is a must. High levels of resilience, with the ability to work on your own initiative, and be a team player are also essential requirements for this post. This is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you will be expected to perform others related to business objectives. A flexible approach is required and be able to work in the Nursery and from home on a regular basis.
