Job Description

The Project Brum Sharing Assistant will work as part of our Sharing team, you will help to deliver the mobile share shack offer which are libraries of things, along with working in our Share Shack in Ladywood. Our aims are to encourage people to think about what they are buying / throwing away, and to allow them to become more connected to their local and wider community.
Working with people in deprived communities across Birmingham, we want individuals to have access to spaces, projects, and to have the chance to become more physically and socially active. This role is based in the community, and you will need to be able to travel across the city.
This is a well rounded job opportunity that will encourage growth and learning via a range of methods. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain valuable experience of working alongside communities. You will gain valuable work skills and receive bespoke employability training to compliment the day to day work you will be involved with.

Main duties
1. Support delivery of face-to-face sharing activities.
2. Work closely with the Project Leads across the business and colleagues, offering programme development support for activities and other administrative tasks.
3. Support your team with appropriate activities and group sessions in person. Contributing towards creating a safe space for communities to come together.
4. You will need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions and travel across the city is imperative.
5. Being responsive and flexible to the needs of the programme.
Knowledge, skills and experience
1. Willingness and ability to travel to locations across the city and to be punctual and reliable
2. You may have previous working or volunteering experience and will be comfortable getting involved with a range of different activities
3. Be a good listener, treat people with kindness and be non-judgemental
4. An understanding and commitment to the principles of diversity and equality
5. A flexible approach to working hours
