Brief Description of the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Medical Secretary working with the Team Manager in supporting the Vascular Secretarial & Administration teams.
The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and delivery of key performance indicators within the Surgery & Digestive diseases CSU as agreed with the Team Manager. In addition the post holder will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager and be responsible for a range of duties related to patient pathway management, including; diary management, audio transcription and word processing of clinical letters, production of reports and other correspondence as required by the Medical Team.
You should be literate and numerate, with excellent organisational, time management and IT skills and an ability to work without supervision. An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview. Medical secretarial experience is desirable but not essential. You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. You will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in your work.
The successful candidate must be self-motivated, pro-active, be able to work on their own initiative, have a good working knowledge of office procedures ensuring efficient and effective systems of work are carried out to provide excellent service for their patients and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Be able to showcase the ability to work alongside and with Consultant Medical staff, Directorate Managers and other clinical staff as appropriate.
