Senior Admin Officer

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston

Temporary to cover a maternity leave of absence

Start: September/October 2023

Grade 6 SCP 12-14, Actual salary £22,389 to £23,224.33

Term time only plus 3 weeks.

We are seeking a Senior Admin Officer to join our Alternative Provision in Eston to lead on all aspects of administration within the provision.

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

Operating much smaller classes than our mainstream academies, this KS3/4 alternative provision focuses on personal development and the health and well being of students, whilst not losing academic rigour. We will focus on ensuring that all students can achieve well and are able to move to their next stage with confidence, be it education, employment or training.

We are an inclusive, and caring centre recently judged ‘good’ by Ofsted. At heart, we aim to ensure we best meet the needs of our students. Our centre supports the most vulnerable students including those who have SEND and are disadvantaged. Many of our students experience significant barriers to learning and some have adverse childhood experiences.

The successful candidate will be contributing to the overall management and direction of the provision by working with Senior Leaders, HR and Finance teams. This role will involve working closely with all members of staff at the provision along with the Regional Business Manager and Executive Assistants for the Northern region.

The working pattern for this role is 37 hours per week, term time plus 3 weeks.

As a Senior Admin Officer you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive administrative service which includes day to day admin duties, ordering and maintaining stock, monitoring staff attendance, and giving advice on general queries. You will also be accountable for the Reception staff at Eston, ensuring they are delivering a high level of service to their academy. You will also be responsible for giving support to the Head of Centre and Leadership team by giving administrative support where needed.

A Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in English and Maths is essential, along with a relevant Level 3 qualification for example in Business Admin, or substantial experience in a relevant discipline. As well as being well presented with excellent interpersonal skills, in order to allow you to engage with visitors to the Academy, students and staff.
