Our continually developing expertise allows us to provide full service capability on demand encompassing rental, sales, service and repair, calibration, personnel and asset management.
Seatronics are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.
Based in Westhill, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe receipt, storage and dispatch of a wide range of goods.
You will ensure workplace quality, health, safety and environment requirements are met along with overseeing the maintenance of the warehouse. By managing people, processes and systems, the Warehouse Manager, along with the department managers, ensures productivity targets are met. The Warehouse Manager will manage a team of workers ensuring the department operates in accordance with the group policies and procedures at all times.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for personnel issues such as the recruitment, training and discipline of staff.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assisting Department Managers with planning, coordinating, administration and general management issues, which include the day-to-day supervision of warehouse staff and overseeing all work is undertaken in a compliant and safe manner
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods
- Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Ensuring the efficient utilisation of space and mechanical handling equipment aligns with quality, budgetary and environmental targets are met
- Accountable for maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and equipment are stored safely and securely.
- Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce
- Liaising with customers to monitor the quality of service they are receiving
- Assisting Department Mangers with planning future capacity requirements
- Working with teams to keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy
- Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone
- Organising the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress
- Ensuring team members liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies in a professional manner at all times
- Drive lean management within the department; improving processes and overall efficiency
- Work with the QHSE Manager & Advisor to maintain and develop organisational culture, QHSE culture, values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
- Work with the QHSE Manager & Advisor to ensure QHSE procedures reflect the adopted common best working practices within Seatronics/Acteon and are kept current
- Work with the QHSE Manager & Advisor to provide suitable and current information to staff concerning health, safety, environmental and quality policies and practices
- Work with the QHSE Manager & Advisor to ensure the provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting are provided to the relevant authorities
- Assist with the recording of proper and timely assessments of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments
- Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions
- Work with the QHSE Manager & Advisor to maintain ISO 9001 certification and work to the principles of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Ensure the records of planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment meets compliance requirements
- Support the QHSE Manager & Advisor in the monitoring of quality provision and receipt
- Organising HSE training of staff, as well as monitoring staff training records
- Arranging PPE for staff
- Support the QHSE Manager & Advisor with the production of regular HSE reports
- To follow and conduct audits in accordance to the audit schedule
Requirements
- Ideally NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
- Lean / 5S Training
- Operational management experience
- Experience managing small teams
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- Attention to detail with good analytical skills
- Knowledge of safety systems, quality control and environmental health
- Strong communication skills; e.g. report writing, customer service
- Customer focused with a forward thinking attitude
