You probably didn’t know there was a library in the middle of the hospital and there are few people out there that have heard of health librarianship as a career.
So why would you want to take on an apprenticeship in a health library?

As a Business Administrator Apprentice, you may work independently or as part of a team and will develop, implement, maintain, and improve the library services. You will provide excellent customer service and build effective working relationships, all of which is great experience, and helps to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
You will be expected to maintaining high standards of professionalism and to work in line with the Trust’s values and behaviours.
You will be curious, motivated and enthusiastic. Other qualities include being punctual, reliable, adaptable, and proactive.
You will be employed on a fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week. Most of our previous apprentices have chosen to stay with the Trust and moved into permanent roles following their apprenticeship.
You must meet the apprenticeship eligibility criteria
- Be 16 years or older
- Must have been a UK resident for the last 3 years
- Must not have already completed this Apprenticeship or hold a level 4 or above qualification in the subject
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.
The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.

As a member of the team, you will assist in the day-to-day operational work of the team,
which will involve liaising with members of staff across the team, locality and organisation,
external organisations as required and members of the public

- To support and assist in the efficient general running of the library in relation to Business Administration role and responsibilities. This will include typing, filing, storage and retrieval of data, handling of post and dealing with general enquiries.
- Attend and gain underpinning knowledge sessions in relation to Personal, Employment and Development qualification and Functional Skills.
- Become prepared and knowledgeable within the working environment
