Job Description
We have the opportunity for an Apprentice Youth Worker to join our Contact, Advice and Assessment Service (CAAS) Family First Early Response Hub.
The Family First Early Response Hub provides support and advice to families where there are worries and concerns. The aim of the Family First Early Response Hub is to help to prevent those worries and concerns from escalating to a point where the family require a statutory intervention from Children and Family Services.
The Hub is a multi-agency Hub and therefore different agencies are co-located within the Hub, to ensure a holistic response to families.
About the role of the Apprentice Youth Worker

The role of the Apprentice Youth Worker within the Hub is to provide support, advice and guidance to young people aged 11-17 years old who are referred into the Early Response Hub. The primary purpose of the role is to engage young people in the community, to prevent escalation of worries and concerns and to promote engagement with existing community services.
The successful candidate will be required to present information within a multi-agency forum about the young people they are working with, in order to enhance the support plan with knowledge and experience from community agencies.
The successful candidate will be required to be proactive and engage in detached work in the community in order to actively engage young people.
A full driving licence is essential because of the rural nature of the district. Our main offices are based in Newbury and the outskirts of Reading.

This role requires the incumbent to have a car available at work to undertake his/her duties as they will be expected to undertake at least 1500 business miles per year. Essential Car User status attracts a lump sum allowance paid on a monthly basis as well as a free car parking space if he/she works at one of the Council’s corporate buildings.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
