Location: Cardiff
Hours: 1 x 40 hours, 1 x 30 hours – Please specify on your application if you have a preference
Salary Details: This role attracts an additional 10% Night Pay Allowance for hours between 10.00pm to 8:00am
Our Young Person’s contract provides support and accommodation for young people who are experiencing homelessness across various sites within Cardiff. We are in the process of recruiting night staff to work across our services.
We are looking for creative and inspirational night assistant support workers who will play a key role in delivering support within our services. You will be part of the staff team providing a high-quality programme of support which promotes the principles of a Psychologically and Trauma Informed Environment by building rapport and engaging with the young people who live in our services.
You will need good communication skills, a positive attitude and a high level of motivation and enthusiasm for working with young people who are in crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
As a motivated and dynamic member of our night staff team you will be responsible for the well-being of the young people, providing support through the night such as talking to them, providing diversionary activities or accompanying them to hospital.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of working with young people or other vulnerable people
- Respect and Compassion
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to record information on our IT systems
- Flexible approach to work
- Ability to work night shifts and some weekend work
