Post No. POSN002753 – Clytha Primary School – School Caretaker – (Grade 1) SCP 1 -3 £20,258 – £20,812 per annum, pro rata
Part time Split Shift 19.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year with holidays during school breaks-holiday days to be agreed.
Fixed Term Contract initially
The timings of these are negotiable with the Headteacher with the school needing to be opened and secured safely.
6.00am – 8:00am and 4.30pm – 6.30pm Monday to Thursday
6.00am – 8.00am and 4.30pm – 6.00pm Friday
Hours will change during the School Breaks and on any Inset Days
Additional working hours required for ad hoc events such as Learning Review Meetings, Summer or Winter Fayres
Clytha Primary is seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic and trustworthy Caretaker to join our successful school to carry out caretaking, some cleaning (hall floor daily and other areas from time to time), replenishing of stock, key holding and premises maintenance duties at the school to commence shortly after the scheduled interviews. Holiday leave must be taken during the school breaks with consideration for any contractual work that needs to be completed outside of the term.
You will have responsibility for keeping the outside areas safe and clear of litter, leaves and other debris, including the Forest School area, clear pathways, emptying all the bins within the school premises. In addition, you will be responsible for the security of the school site at the end of the shift by locking up/alarming the building and will be the first Key holder to be contacted by our Security Firm in the event of the Intruder or Fire Alarm being activated.
You will also need to be capable of undertaking minor maintenance to ensure that the premises are maintained to a high standard and in a good state of repair; supervise contractors; carry out Fire Alarm checks and other Premises Management duties following training, occasional Porterage as required and manage/monitor the energy needs of the school.

You will be expected to attend relevant Health and Safety courses including Asbestos Awareness, Premises Management and maintain routine checks and site safety checks logging results as needed and carrying out daily observations and checks of the school site.
