The job will start on Tuesday 22nd April 2025 but will include four days transition / handover period prior to the start date with the current postholder. The working hours will be 7am-9am and 3pm-5:30pm.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repairs:

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs to school buildings and grounds.
Carry out minor repairs and improvements as needed.

2. Cleaning and Hygiene:

Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school.
Manage waste disposal and recycling initiatives.

3. Security:

Monitor and maintain the security of the school premises.
Lock and unlock the school buildings as required.

4. Health and Safety:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular checks of the premises and report any issues.

5. Support for Events:

Assist in the setup and breakdown of school events and activities.
Collaborate with staff to ensure facilities meet the needs of the school community.

Qualifications and Attributes:

• Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role is desirable.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practises.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and the community.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
