Job Details

In this catering post, you would be responsible for all activities in the kitchen and it’s surrounds including cooking, organisation and supervision of food service.

Supervising staff working in the kitchen.

You must be aware of HACCP procedures and ensure all paperwork including electronic returns are completed and submitted accordingly.

Understanding dietary and nutritional needs of the residents within the care home.

Duties may also include transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen and it’s surround.

Enhancements are paid for unsociable hours and weekend working.

We currently have a permanent vacancy to join our team at Ostlers Care Home, Kirkcaldy working 32.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 on a rota with one long weekend off in 4.

You will earn a competitive salary of £23.633.23 – £25,829.49 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £12.59 per hour to start, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.

This work is about ensuring residents are provided with meals throughout the day.

Training on in house systems will be provided. Working towards an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate will be essential once in post.

The Person

Do you have Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent?

Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
