Clerk to Governors
Up to 10 hours per week, term time only (flexibility to be a single or combined role)
Salary Range: Grade 5 (SCP 5-6) £21,575 – £21,968 (FTE pro rata)
Actual Salary £4887 to £4976 (10 hours per week)
The Wessex Multi-Academy Trust is at an exciting stage in its development and we currently have vacancies for a clerk to governors in two of our schools. Each school needs a clerk for 5 hours per week, applicants may wish to clerk up to two schools. The salary for the role has been calculated on the basis of two schools at an average of 10 hours per week term time only, however the majority of the hours would be worked on and around the dates of the meetings. This role could suit someone wishing to take on both schools, or two individuals taking on one school.
We are seeking a reliable, well organised person who is able to work under their own initiative to deadlines whilst providing administrative support to a Local Governing Body. Training and on-going support in all aspects of the role will be available to you from the Trust Governance Manager.

With the exception of actual meetings, the majority of the role will be carried out at home at a time to suit the post holder as preferred. The post holder will need to be flexible with regard to working hours and days as this is dependent on the prescribed meeting schedule of the Local Governing Body.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years’ service.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education
Wessex Academy Trust will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
