Board member vacancies (2 roles) North West
£4,000 per annum (subject to review by April 2024)
Who we are
Cube Homes is the commercial subsidiary company of Great Places Housing Group developing high quality new homes for market rent and sale. Cubes Homes also oversees our investment in the Hive Homes and Forge New Homes joint ventures in Greater Manchester and the Sheffield City Region.
A substantial proportion of Cube’s profit is gifted back to Great Places to support the Group’s profit-for-purpose work. This goes to fund the development of new social housing and shared ownership, services to customers facing challenging circumstances such as the provision of financial and welfare benefits advice, support for people to get back into employment or training and support services to help people to manage their lives successfully. Great Places also invests heavily in the communities where its homes are located to ensure they are thriving our places. This ranges from providing community centres to improving the physical environment of our neighbourhoods. We are also proud to support a variety of community-based projects.
About the role
Cube board members add value to the business by contributing their experience, expertise and insight to determine our strategy, direction and control.
You will be joining a skilled leadership team with the clear purpose of overseeing the growth and reputation of the Cube Homes whilst maintaining a commitment to quality and excellent customer service.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for candidates with an interest and enthusiasm for achieving high quality in new homes development, the sales/letting experience and management services.
For one of the roles we are keen to attract applications from someone with a strong property background. This could include experience associated with property development, planning or property management.
For the other role someone with a strong business or finance background with a high level of commercial acumen would be the ideal candidate.
Previous board experience would be advantageous, but is not essential for this role.
Commitment
Initial 3 year term
Time commitment:
- 4 board meetings per year (plus additional extraordinary meetings where required)
- Meetings are typically held at our head office in Didsbury, Manchester
- The Cube Board attends away days in March (one day) and November (2 days) with the Great Places Board.
