Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours
Location: Head Office, Nottingham (hybrid working, 2 days a week onsite)
Salary: Up to £55,000
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Data Champion to join our growing team!
We are a leading Building Society heavily investing in Data and our new Strategy to strengthen the Society’s data quality and capability as we transform our business for the future.
We’re looking for a curious and enthusiastic Data Champion to support our Director of Data to deliver our transformative new strategy in 2024. You will play a key role bridging the gap between technical teams and the business by building great relationships and empowering business areas to self-serve from governed, high quality and trusted data.
This is a dynamic and influential role at the intersection of technology and business, with the potential for meaningful impact and continuous learning. It’s a role that allows you to harness the power of data and contribute to informed decision-making, innovation, and organisational success!
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing as a Data Champion at The Nottingham: –
- Bridge the Gap – you will play a crucial role bridging the gap between technical data experts and non-technical stakeholders. You will ensure a culture of excellent customer service to drive the delivery of our data strategy via close collaboration with internal teams
- Enable Informed Decision-Making – you will empower the business and stakeholders to make data-informed decisions. You will support non-technical teams to understand complex data insights to support business areas to adapt and identify opportunities to improve
- Influence Strategy – our Data Champion role is based in our central data hub and will support the strategic direction by providing insights and recommendations based on data. This role is influential and allows you to contribute to the delivery of our exciting new strategy
- Creative Problem-Solving – you will find creative ways to present data and make it understandable, succinct and actionable
- Continuous Learning – the field of data is continually evolving and you will need to stay up-to-date with the latest data tools, techniques, and trends
What we’re looking for: –
- Proven experience within a similar transferable role
- A pro-active self-starter and an innovative thinker with high motivation
- The ability to effectively communicate analytical concepts to stakeholders (storytelling skills)
- Some SQL experience
- Experience with quantitative data, analysis and database design or engineering
- Financial services experience
- A growth mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and learning
