The Opportunity
We are seeking a consultant to support the development of our City Economics and Planning business and capability in London, across the UK, and internationally. We are currently growing our team and seeking an experienced professional with a solid economics background, with quantitative and data analysis skills. A background in transport, environmental and / or urban economics would be particularly relevant.
Ideally, we are seeking experience working in consultancy with central, local government and private sector clients.
You will be involved with the planning, delivery and presentation of economic analyses, data analyses and quantitative modelling as part of a project team. This a great opportunity to work on high-profile projects in urban socio economics, local economic growth, transport, and environmental economics for a range of public and private sector clients, in the UK and internationally
Is this role right for you?
We are seeking experience working with data and conducting quantitative research and analysis . Knowledge of econometrics and social research methodologies are particularly relevant as many of our projects are research heavy.
You will be involved in supporting projects, bids, business development and leading on tasks and thought leadership assignments.
You will have a degree in economics or related disciplines or be able to demonstrate relevant technical skills through relevant professional experience.
Ideally you will have the following skills and experience;
- Experience in working with multiple data sources (including publicly available statistics, survey data and primary data sources) and in processing and transforming large databases to inform economic analyses.
- Skilled with quantitative research methods and analysis, ranging from descriptive statistical analysis to simple econometric analysis.
- Ability in presenting analytical findings through concise, high impact reports and insightful data visualisations.
- Experience in (one or more of) social and economic development, urban and local economic growth, transport and environmental economics, and a passion for the subject.
- Proficiency (or proven ability to develop proficiency) in using software packages for statistical analysis and data visualisation (e.g., R, Python, Power BI). Knowledge of spatial analysis software would also be welcome.
- Strong grasp of the economic policy agenda, including initiatives relating to levelling up, transport and infrastructure, decarbonisation, economic inequality, and social value.
