As our HR Advisor, you will be a key point of contact for employees and managers, providing expert HR advice and support on various employment matters. You will play a critical role in implementing HR policies, diagnosing and resolving employee issues, whilst proactively promoting a positive work culture within the Company.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees have the best employee experience as part of their immersion into ELEMIS. Collaborate with managers, aiding them to ensure that they have planned the right immersion for their new hire, incl. meetings and context/agenda for each meeting in order for the new recruit to get up to speed quickly. Booking training days/sessions with Education Team and ensuring access to internal systems on or before their first day. Follow up with new team members for feedback on their immersion experience.
- Coach line managers through the new employee’s first formal milestones; 6-week and 3-month probationary reviews. Ensuring line managers deliver clear, concise, and impactful feedback. Issuing timely letters to confirm and celebrate successful probation completion.
- Coaching line managers through extended probationary reviews. Ensuring employment law is followed whilst providing commercial advice and keeping in mind the employee experience.
- Collaborate with line managers to manage training indemnity in your areas, maintaining employee trackers. Communicating with our Payroll team any payroll implications, ensuring accurate information is provided.
- Issuing all relevant contracts for any job changes in your areas, for example, transfers, promotions and salary increases. Ensuring relevant information is accurately added onto HRIS system within payroll deadlines.
- Conduct Exit Interviews/manage Exit Surveys, creating a safe space for leaving colleagues to provide feedback and creating a positive employee leaving experience. Escalating any concerns to Senior HR Business Partner.
- Proactively manage Payroll Information for your areas, ensuring accurate data entry onto HRIS within payroll deadlines. Liaising with store/field based staff to collate monthly Rota’s to be processed by Payroll. Ensuring smooth payroll processing for your areas by actively assisting our Payroll team whilst adhering to deadlines.
- Assisting line managers by providing monthly reporting such as, staffing, location lists and holiday reports.
- Promoting, open, honest and transparent communication between line managers and team members by providing support where necessary.
- Interpreting ELEMIS policies and procedures in line with relevant employment law, providing commercial advice, balancing employee experience and business needs.
- Collaborate with Senior HRBP to update on all ER issues in your area. Monitor and identify trends to work closely with the Senior HR Business partner to diagnose and proactively collaborate with managers to prevent recurrence. Receiving approval from HR Director on potential suspensions and seeking employment law advice from our external partners, where necessary.
- Manage and send out quarterly sickness report for your areas, highlighting any high or unusual absence and proactively collaborate with line managers to address any potential issues.
- Collaborate with line managers to manage Long Term sickness, ensuring timely Occupational Health referrals and Income Protection Benefit applications are made. Coaching line managers through the process in line ELEMIS policies.
- Promote best practice in line with employment law when handling all ER issues, ensuring appropriate and timely formal letters are sent out at each formal process.
- Actively promote the adherence to GDPR and DPA by coaching line managers on expectations and best practice, while proactively addressing and aligning any necessary adjustments to ensure seamless compliance.
- Contribute proposals to continuously improve working practices and procedures with a view to create a great employee experience, increase productivity, and promote ELEMIS values.
- Proactively contribute to HR Projects and initiatives to drive the HR agenda to meet business objectives. Assisting to embed ELEMIS values throughout the employee experience.
- Assist in implementing and communicating HR policies and procedures.
- Actively promote employee engagement initiatives and assist in fostering a positive work environment.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

- Be Tech Savvy, or have a keen interest in systems and reporting
- Strong demonstrable experience of managing high-volume, end-to-end, ER issues
- Experience working as a Generalist HR Advisor in companies with high levels of change and pace
- Coaching line managers, building strong working relationships with high levels of influence
- Working with and supporting a busy Payroll team whilst meeting regular monthly deadlines
- Keeping up-to-date with employment law, regulations and HR best practices
- Qualified member of CIPD Level 5 (desirable but not essential)
