We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Force Intelligence Bureau as an Intelligence Officer. You’ll be joining a highly productive team of Police Officers, Police Staff and partners to deliver a broad and specialised critical intelligence function for Northumbria Police. This is an exciting role where you will work with a huge variety of partners and stakeholders to gather, evaluate, research, and analyse information and intelligence.
What will the role involve?
  • Managing incoming and outgoing International Enquiries through external organisations such as Interpol, Europol, The National Crime Agency and the Home Office.
  • Managing a caseload of current International Enquiries
  • Providing advice and assistance to the Organisation – in terms of International Policing
  • Disseminate and receive intelligence and share information force wide, to foreign forces and to partner agencies in accordance with the relevant procedures in order to inform operational decision makers.
  • Be prepared to learn new skills and new systems in order to fulfil all aspects of the role of an Intelligence officer.
What skills will I need?
  • You’ll need to demonstrate an understanding of the handling and development of intelligence products as well as International Policing and Policing Tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to flex these to various stakeholders
  • You must be able to plan and organise comprehensibly – as well as being able to reprioritise when the need arises
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – you’ll be building and maintaining relationships with various partners and agencies
  • The ability to switch quickly from working independently to working within a team
The shift pattern is Monday – Friday 0800 – 1600 although some flexibility may be required dependent on Operational Commitments.

Recruitment Vetting (RV)
