We’re looking for Kitchen Assistants to join us at Calke Abbey (internally you’ll be known as Food & Beverage Team Members).

Hours: flexible 0-hour role, working up to 4 shifts per week (30 hours) over the summer period. Weekend and weekday working will be required.

Salary: £10.50 per hour, the salary offered here is for all who apply even if you are of school leaving age.

Duration: fixed-term contract until 10th September 2023

What it’s like to work here:Reporting to the Food & Beverage Assistant Managers, you’ll be based at Calke Abbey, one of the East Midlands’ top 10 visitor attractions. The newly refurbished restaurant serves local and seasonal produce, including organically reared meat from the estate. As well as the house, Calke is popular with visitors looking to explore the gardens, pleasure grounds, stableyards, and the 600+ acre estate including an ancient deer park, wetland and nature reserve. Our popular commercial spaces such as the restaurant, café, pop-up refreshments and shop help to make much of Calke’s extensive conservation work possible.

What you’ll be doing:With your love of working with people, positive attitude and desire to provide an excellent service, you’ll support the Kitchen Team in the successful delivery of our menu. Your duties will include basic food preparation and cleaning, as well as setting up, cooking on and maintaining the outdoor BBQ. From time to time you may be required to assist the front of house team to ensure our customers are looked after when they visit our Food and Beverage outlets.

You’ll receive a bespoke induction, allergen/food safety training and the coaching required to fulfil in role. Further professional training & development opportunities are available.
