We are looking to welcome Kitchen Porters to join our delightful Food team at Warrington. We are searching for a candidate who is looking to learn & develop a skill set to progress in a food career long term.
In the IKEA world, we call this position a Food Co-worker.
Due to Health & Safety regulations, applicants must be over the age of 18.
You are key to keeping the flow of service to an exceptionally high standard that our customers deserve and keeping those customers safe with high standards of cleaning. Full training will be provided in health & safety including HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) and record keeping.
Previous experience is not essential!
Expected Starting Date: July 2023.
WHAT WE OFFER
- £10.90 – Living Wage Foundation Employer
- Various size contracts from 12 hours weekly up to 24 hours. This will be discussed at interview stage.
- Working 3 out 4 weekends.
- Shifts between 9am – 11pm approx.. 4-6 hours daily.
We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, we provide options for working weekend only contracts or evening and weekend only contracts with required availability to work.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE
Are you a team player with a passion for food and people? Do you know your meat ball from your plant ball? If so, then we are looking for you.
We are looking for someone like you to help us deliver a taste of Sweden and a great customer experience with high quality health & safety standards. You will contribute to a passionate and friendly team to deliver a better everyday life for the many, while embracing change with a solution-orientated mindset. This is an extremely fast paced working environment and requires you to multitask, with regular heavy lifting.
Prior experience is not essential, do you have a roll up your sleeve mindset to the various tasks & challenges that present themselves.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

- As a Food Co-worker, you will report to one of the Food Managers or Team Leaders and work alongside them in the kitchen help to create a safe, healthy, and joyful food experience for both the customer and the co-worker.
- The kitchen is a safety-first, fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail for all things safety and efficient multi-tasking to ensure IKEA remains a safe place for people to shop, work and have fun.
- Your main responsibilities will be in the dish area to help maintain a constant supply of clean dishes, cutlery, pots & pans for our customers and food handlers, also to complete cleaning checks within the function.
- Supporting the Food Manager and Team Leaders in EHO (environmental health officer) checks, self-audits and alerting the team of any potential hazards that effect the safety of the customer and the food team.
