This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician, with experience of working in children’s services, to join our Community, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Team (CAMHS) team on the Isle of Wight. The IOW NHS Trust community CAMHS team is CQC rated Good, the team is a multidisciplinary team of 40 staff who provide services to children and young people on the Island that are experiencing emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.

This dynamic clinician will work within the IOW Community CAMHS Team. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist support and intervention to children, young people and their families within a range of settings including; home, the children’s ward, the Acute Adult Ward, and other community settings to support recovery and deliver interventions in the least restrictive environment.

They will be passionate about ensuring the child’s voice is central to the work they do and work in partnership with families and other agencies to achieve the outcomes desired by the child or young person.

Job Purpose.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the management of a clinical caseload within the CCAMHS Team. To work flexibly in a variety of community settings including team bases, client homes, GP Practices, Schools, other Health and Social Services premises and Mental Health In-Patient Services.

Line Management supervision will be provided by the Team Leader or delegated Senior Practitioner. The CCAMHS team as agreed by the Line Manager will provide clinical supervision.

Job Statement
1. Responsibility for assessing, devising, planning and instigating appropriate treatment plans that are evidence based, in support of the organisational and individual professional guidance and policies.
2. Liaise with other agencies in planning and assessing programmes of care, providing consultation and training where appropriate.
3. To carry out assessments (including emergency and urgent assessments) of children and families (on a joint or solo basis) who have been referred to Community CAMHS.
4. The need to promote a service that is safe, respects the views of the patient/client by actively promoting choice, engagement and involvement together in partnership with families and other agencies is fundamental to the delivery of the service.
5. This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the grade of the job and/or hours of work at your initial place of work or at any of the Trusts establishments, in discussion with the line manager.
6. Ensuring that child development and family dynamics are fundamental in the assessment when considering emotional health and wellbeing in an age appropriate and family context.
