PA 4 hours a week (spread over 2 weeks)

Personal Assistant (PA) needed to assist a 7-year-old autistic boy who is demand avoidant to get out and about in the community safely and to do things he enjoys. We live in the Rothwell LS26 area.

Joseph is a loving, caring adventurous boy who loves doing things on his terms. Joseph loves attention and when calm can be very chatty and has a good sense of humour. Joseph loves being outdoors and playing games.

When a demand is put on Joseph, he can have violent and challenging behaviours and can also become a flight risk. He needs to be watched closely due to his lack of danger awareness and to keep him and others safe.

Joseph is toilet trained but still has some wee accidents, so may need help to get changed.

Ideally, we would like someone who could take Joseph out on a Saturday to his football ran by SNAPS at Broomfield or days out every other week for 6 hours. Also, every Tuesday evening from 6 to 7pm to support Joseph at Beavers. We can be flexible on hours.

We are ideally after someone who has some understanding and/or previous experience of working with neurodiverse children who are demand avoidant. Someone who drives and has a car and can be flexible. However, the main thing is you form a positive relationship with Joseph and enjoy doing activities with him.
