We Are With You`s Bournemouth SPOC (Single Point of Contact) Service provides free and confidential support to people experiencing Issues and who need support with alcohol and substance use. A recovery worker post working specifically with Alcohol clients aged 55 and over has become available. This is a new and exciting role. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing the role and moving forward to better support this cohort.

You will have your own caseload, working both one your own and as part of our team alongside other social care services as well as assertively out reaching hard to engage clients. You will develop recovery plans with your clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be. There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that’s all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.

The successful candidate will be based in the Single Point of contact (SPOC) team. The SPOC Team support service users at the beginning of their treatment journey within the BCP treatment system. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing a caseload, care planning, risk management and supporting clients to achieve their personalised goals. We deliver harm minimisation interventions within our needle exchange and deliver psychosocial interventions within our workshops carrying out preparation and aftercare planning to support referrals towards detoxifications programmes and residential rehabilitation.

REQUIRED SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
  • have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
  • have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
  • be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise you work
  • have good oral and written communication skills
  • be comfortable using IT and digital media
  • be organised and able to manage your time effectively
  • able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
  • be happy to support other With You locations when needed

You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

We’ll give your application priority if you:

  • have previous experience of working with people who misuse substances
  • knowledge of health and safety, including assessing client in high-risk situations

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We may close this role earlier if a sufficient number of applications are received. This is a part-time role, working Monday – Wednesday (9am – 5pm) and some evenings and weekends if required. We are also recruiting for a full-time role (details can be found on our website).
