Seafront Facilities Assistant (Public Facilities Cleaner)
If you are passionate about the local environment and the community benefits it provides, then an exciting opportunity exists for you with BCP Council Seafront Operations. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced people to join our Seafront Team.
Positions are now open for application, to work along Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Seafront, as part of our Public Facilities Cleaning Team.
You will be required to assist in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the seafront’s public toilets. This is a challenging but rewarding role suited to candidates looking to maximise their pay with a large number of weekly hours available. Applicants must be available to start their new role at the beginning of March.
You will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently as required using your own initiative. You will work proactively with all members of the public and the wider team. Enthusiasm and commitment to providing a safe, clean and inclusive seafront is essential. With an eye for detail and a passion for cleaning you will be a key part of our dedicated team working to ensure public toilets and the surrounding areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, as well as responding to and reporting facility related issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
Working for Seafront Operations, you will assist in maintaining BCP’s beaches and associated infrastructure to the standards required to attain the international Blue Flag and national Seaside Awards administered by Keep Britain Tidy. In addition, you’ll be expected to support and promote the Council’s Leave Only Footprints initiative.
A disposition to promote high standards of customer care and communication skills is essential for this post. You will be an integral member of the Seafront Operations Team ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a great place to live, work and visit.
Successful applicants will work in shifts covering up to 5 days in 7, including some Bank Holidays and weekends on an approximate 37 hours per week basis. The applicant will also be expected to work outdoors for the majority of each shift in order to carry out their duties.
Holding a fully valid, UK driver’s license would be advantageous but not essential for this role.
