Who we are and what we do
Compare My Move is a comparison service founded in 2012 for UK movers to compare and connect with moving industry professionals they can trust.
Having come from a removals background, we started comparing removal companies for home movers and quickly added surveying and conveyancing as additional services. With more services on the way our mission is to become the home of moving home. We’re building the best network of verified partners from local trusted professionals, whilst saving home movers time and money on moving services and becoming a recognisable brand within our industry and beyond.

Do you have a passion for SEO? Are you always on the lookout for the next core update? Are you happy planning and leading new SEO strategies? If so, Compare My Move, an online comparison service for moving home, are looking for a SEO Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to join a creative, passionate, highly successful SEO team. Your SEO strategies will help grow the business and have a real impact into its future.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the Head of SEO and wider team taking responsibility for new SEO ideas and their implementation.
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Develop SEO strategies that convert!
- Deliver insightful recommendations to grow visibility and traffic
- Lead the delivery of new SEO strategies ensuring KPIs are met
- Perform keyword research to identify new lead opportunities
- Develop link building strategy’s that help to improve rankings
- Ensure SEO best practices are maintained throughout the site
- Thorough understanding of all core aspects of SEO (content, technical, offsite)
Take things to the next level
- Stay abreast of search engine developments and algorithm changes
- Monitor crawl logs to identify any issues or new opportunities
- Maximise page speed metrics
- Undertake in-depth technical analysis
- Regularly audit landing pages and guides, refreshing and updating content
- Work with SEO and content executives to deliver link building targets
- Support the management of the wider SEO team with the Head of SEO
Monitor and report your success
- Monitor & report on keyword positions
- Utilise Google Analytics, Search Console and SEMrush to analyse landing page performance and identify opportunities for improvements
- Present monthly reports on traffic & lead numbers
The ideal candidate
- A minimum of 3 years SEO experience
- Previous experience of managing a team is a must
- A solid track record in improving SEO metrics
- Please bring with you examples of how you have increased and maintained the rankings of multiple high competition keywords
- Experience of working with a relatively large website in a competitive vertical
- Good ability to evaluate content quality from both an editorial and SEO perspective
- Demonstrable experience of outreach in a competitive or challenging vertical
- Please supply examples of non-paid, do-follow links generated from high authority sites
- Experience in using tools like SEMrush and AHREFS
- High level knowledge of technical SEO
- Expert user of Google Analytics, Search Console, Data Studio and Excel
- Previous experience in planning and executing SEO strategies
- Excellent reporting skills and used to presenting to senior management
- While not required, experience of lead generation would be great to bring to the table, even better if in similar services but don’t worry if you don’t have this

Typical application process

- Technical SEO testBefore the interview you will be asked to complete a short test. This will contain questions regarding technical, on and off page SEO.
- Face to face interviewDiscuss in depth your experience and the skills you could bring to the company. Outline next stage presentation to prepare.
- Prepare presentationConduct an SEO audit, providing feedback and ideas for improvement. Then present ideas on what you would do to generate more leads. This could include content ideas, technical improvements or missed link building opportunities. Please provide some practical solutions and examples.
- Final interviewA chance for you to present the presentation face to face. We can tell you more about the company and ask some final questions.
