About the role
We are looking to recruit a Service Support Administrator to join our Corporate Service Support Team on a temporary basis, to cover a member of staff on maternity. The role will primarily be providing support to the Planned Care Adult Specialism Service, which sits within Porth Cynnal, one of the four service areas that underpins the Through Age Wellbeing model. Planned Care is a busy social work team, which requires a hard-working member of staff to provide administrative support to the Team Manager and social workers.
About the Role
The role includes handling incoming phone calls and e-mails to the team and dealing with and responding to enquiries; general administrative duties; arranging meetings on Microsoft Teams on behalf of practitioners in the team; creating service user profiles on the data base (WCCIS –Welsh Community Care Information System) and inputting data.
About the candidate
We are seeking a candidate with experience of working within an administrative setting, has good IT skills and a methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail. Experience of working within a Social Services setting would be beneficial to the successful candidate, however, is not mandatory.
The successful candidate will also have access to the discretionary benefit of hybrid working. However, due to certain responsibilities, the postholder will be required to work from the office regularly and this could be with little notice.

We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer. Our key functions include:
- Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking.
- Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees.
- Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register.
- Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages.
- Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation.
- Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
