Temporary Social Care Officer positions are available in:
- The Child Health and Disability Team provide services to children and young people who have a severe or significant learning disability, physical disability, sensory impairment or profound communication impairment. They have strong multi-agency links, particularly with Health, and are currently engaged in regional working to the benefit of disabled children and their families. These positions are funded until 31 March 2024, with a strong possibility for extension.
About the role
Pay Details: Grade 6 SCP 14-19 (£25,409 – £27,852) p.a. Temporary post – funding agreed until 31/03/2024
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours (Monday – Thursday 8.30 – 5.00 / Friday 8.30 – 4.30)
Main Place of Work: Docks Office. Hybrid working is in place.
Description:
As a Social Care Officer you will support vulnerable children, young people and their families/carers, in line with the relevant legislation, guidance, regulations and national standards. You will work independently, and as part of a multi agency team, and you will be confident in assessing, and working with children, young people and families to enable them to achieve the outcomes that they want to.
About you
You will need:
- Experience of working with children, young people and their families.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Experience of collating information and providing reports.
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs of vulnerable children.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Knowledge of different methods of engaging with children and young people.
- Experience of working with disabled children and young people
