We have various part time shifts available for Support Workers. it would be helpful if you note the sort of hours you’re looking for when you apply: e.g. part time days and evenings/nights.

You must be a driver with your own transport which is insured for business use, at this time, due to the needs of the people we support.

What will I be doing?

You will be supporting adults from 18 years of age with a range of activities. These will include everyday living needs, such as assisting with medications, supporting with health and medical appointments, through to the lighter side of life: bowling, swimming, going out for walks, listening to music, going into town, shopping or out for meals.

On occasion, you will provide emotional reassurance and support to help people manage their behaviour, but we’ll give you full training so you are aware of how to approach these situations should they arise. There is also some personal care involved with these roles, and one person is a wheelchair user.

Training and Development

At Macintyre we fully support your training and development. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job.
