Overall purpose of the Job (IAG/SSW Assignment in SEED):

The Teaching, Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) Assistant in this vacancy is jointly assigned to the Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG) and Student Support & Wellbeing (SSW) areas within TLSE in the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED). The role is responsible for providing administrative support to the team, focusing on student support and development. This includes acting as the first point of contact for student support and wellbeing matters, offering information, advice, and guidance on routine issues, and knowing when to escalate more complex queries to the appropriate colleagues. The role also involves fostering a student-centred culture by ensuring cohesion across school teams, particularly in relation to maintaining student records and supporting all school-based processes.

Additionally, the IAG/SSW assignment requires the assistant to play an active role in supporting the student journey, contributing to the maintenance and accuracy of student systems, and participating in activities that enhance the overall student experience. The postholder is expected to work collaboratively within the team, demonstrate flexibility across different tasks, and uphold the values of diversity and inclusion in all interactions. This ensures that students receive timely, accurate, and supportive guidance throughout their academic journey.
