Opportunities have arisen at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to join our Financial Services team focusing mainly within the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Accountancy Teams.
We are seeking ambitious, reliable and flexible individuals who can demonstrate commitment to achieving both their own and the Trusts goals, whilst fully contributing to the team Can Do spirit.
The roles will play an important part in helping the Trust and its Subsidiaries maintain a successful accounts payable and accounts receivable department and also be involved in successfully implementing new progressive ways of working. Additional tasks will include supporting the administration of the supplier and customer databases as well as other necessary administrative tasks.
Paying invoices accurately and on time is essential to the Trusts performance and this will involve the post holder liaising with other internal departments as well as suppliers to resolve queries ensuring prompt payment. To ensure the Trust and its subsidiaries maintain a positive cash position, Debtor invoices will be raised in a timely manner and debt chased proactively to ensure low levels of outstanding debt.
The positions will initially be office based, flexible working will be supported including some home working along with flexible working hours upon completion of training.
Main duties of the job
You will be involved in daily tasks such as input of invoices/credit notes including matching to Purchase Orders (POs), work flowing non-PO invoices, scanned invoice review and ensuring VAT is correctly accounted for.
Each team member has allocated supplier responsibility ensuring effective management, dealing with invoices on hold, supplier reconciliations and resolving issues to ensure payment to ensure compliance with the Trusts Better Payment Policy whilst contributing to service improvements.
Accounts Receivable tasks mainly include raising of invoices and debt chasing. There will some level of Excel required to ensure maintenance of debt logs and payment plans
Other administration tasks will include but are not limited to, supplier bank account amendments, cost centre hierarchy management and supplier and customer data base management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential with the ability to deal with people at all levels and good organisational skills is a must with a real commitment to excellent service delivery.
Ideally the successful candidate will have some Excel skills and Accounts Payable PO and/or Accounts Receivable experience within a busy finance environment, whilst ensuring consistency, accuracy & deadlines are met as well as managing own workload and being a team player in our Can Do team.
