Contract Welcome & Service Assistant at National Trust
Job Description
In partnership with the Department for Communities Historic Environment Division we’re looking for Welcome and Service Assistants to help welcome visitors to Audleys Castle in Strangford and Dundrum Castle. You’ll ensure that visitors are provided with a warm welcome and excellent customer service during their visit to these historic sites.
Salary : £10.78 per hour
The Hours : Flexible hours to be discussed at interview. Typical shift patterns are 9.30am-4pm each day.
Contract duration : This is a seasonal part-time role until 11 th September.

- Welcome visitors to Audleys Castle and Dundrum Castle and provide them with a detailed overview of the sites’ facilities and services
- Provide guidance and advice to guests on the various activities available in the area, such as guided tours, community events, and local restaurants and hotels
- Provide informative talks to groups of visitors to enhance their experience.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the history, geography and culture of the area and of the castle’s architecture and features.
- Attend to the daily running of the sites, ensuring that they are kept safe, clean and tidy at all times.
- Respond effectively to any customer queries, problems or complaints in a friendly and professional manner
- Depending on operational need candidates may support with work at Castle Ward and Murlough National Nature Reserve
What you’ll be doing:Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that they receive excellent service every day. As a Welcome & Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
You’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work with the Visitor Welcome team to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.
