Work Placement Coordinator
Permanent,Part Time 25 hours per week, Term Time Only 36+2 weeks per year
Salary: £16,092 per annum (Full time equivalent £27,288 per annum) (Professional Services Grade 6)
Campus: Salisbury, Wiltshire
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Work Placement Coordinator to support our students with their practical work placements in early years and health and social care settings. The role is 25 hours per week, term time only.
Working alongside the academic staff within the department, you will organise placing students in appropriate work settings, and then monitor their progress whilst on placement. You will also maintain effective relationships with the placement settings.
Other aspects of the role include –
- Assisting the Work Placement Lead and Line Manager in the day to day running of the vocational work placement element of the study programme for full time Health, Care and Early Years students.
- Carrying out assessments/observations of leaners in the workplace
- Matching students with available work placement opportunities according to their specific course needs.
- Organising work experience opportunities internally with departments across college.
- Making contact with employers to arrange individual placements for students in the appropriate vocational workplace.
- Ensuring all Health and Safety forms and consent forms are completed prior to any work experience taking place.
- Utilising organisational and communication skills to help ensure smooth and effective vocational work placement.
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with employers to enhance the vocational work placement opportunities.
- Monitoring and reporting on student attendance, punctuality, and behaviour whilst on vocational wok placements.
About You
To apply for this role, you will hold a level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care/ Early Years as well as having GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above. You will have the ability to work effectively across departments and complete tasks in a timely manner. You will be motivated to work with children and vulnerable adults and be able to effectively organise your workload and set priorities.
Alongside your experience and qualifications, you will be a strong team player and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
